Support Committee

The Support Committee meets monthly to discuss and plan all the church’s financial policies.
This committee oversees all benevolent giving by encouraging members in their benevolent growth and participation.  The benevolent outreach includes not only the local congregation and the local community, but also national and global needs within and outside our denominations.  Any special offering activities of the Church are to be conducted or monitored by the Support Committee.

This committee is responsible for enlisting the congregation’s support of Mt. Vernon programs and ministries through the regular giving of time, talents and funds.  Each fall this committee conducts a stewardship program designed to educate the congregation about Mt. Vernon’s needs, goals and new initiatives and to raise the funds for the coming year’s budget.  The funds generated by the campaign are used to operate church programs, pay for church facilities, compensate the pastor and staff and finance our local and worldwide missions.

Financial pledges may be registered with Mt. Vernon Church by contacting the church office and requesting a pledge card.

This committee is also responsible to recruit, monitor and oversee the weekly money counters and the annual audit committee.
