The Worship Committee works to encourage Christian growth through worship and fellowship. This committee works with the Pastor and the Music Department to coordinate services that uplift all who attend.
Traditional worship services are held at Mt. Vernon each Sunday at 11:00 a.m. Special worship services are held during the seasons of Advent and Lent.
The committee works to coordinate the following volunteer positions:
Usher Teams
Worship Lay Leaders
Acolytes
Greeters and Coffee Servers
Communion Schedule, Preparation and Servers
Pulpit Supply Pastors
Sound Technicians
Music Department including Choir
Wedding Coordinators
The committee welcomes anyone who would like to take part in the planning of worship at Mt. Vernon.
OUR COMMITTEE VISION:
Is of a worshipping community that glorifies God by providing for the joyful gathering of God’s people, not only on Sunday morning, but throughout the days, weeks, and months of the year. To be a community unafraid to `sing a new song unto the Lord’, as we seek to worship God in new, creative, authentic and meaningful ways that are pleasing unto God.
OUR COMMITTEE MISSION:
Is to seek and develop creative designs (contemporary, traditional, blended and alternative forms of) of worship to provide a variety of opportunities for a wide diversity of people to express meaningful Christian Worship, thus striving to help them grow closer to God and to each other, while glorifying God at all times.
